Why you would want this role? Due to an exciting period of growth, a senior engineering position has become available at our site in Yeovil. You will be joining the product support engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong engineering and quality background, where you will be executing advanced product quality planning. What are we looking for? We are looking for highly experienced individuals with a strong background in APQP, and flawless launch experience. You will be leading and influencing a team, and will be the catalyst for culture change of launch on time. What will you be doing every day? * Facilitate and create DFMEA for new product launches * Define Key Critical Characteristics based on lessons learned * Analyse past warranty/quality failure data and provide input to DFMEA. * Facilitate and drive by working closely with AME |Quality | PM & Plant NPI for Design for Manufacturing (DFM). * Facilitate and help create risk assessment at various IPDS phases. * Ability to challenge engineering and others for risk mitigation plan on product launches. * Collaborate with AME | Quality to follow Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) practices * Ability to handle different programs simultaneously. * Follow IPDS launch process. * Work with reactive quality team for close loop and lessons learned. * Ability to work specific projects using six sigma approaches to address all launch issues as either a task force leader or team member. * Ensure Manufacturing Readiness Review ( MRA) is done for launch * Support various customer escape reduction projects by following DMAIC methodology * Serve as Black Belt for PSE organization * Support DMAIC methodology and Six Sigma tool suite * Statistical and rapid problem solving capabilities * Review and provide guidance on training materials (DFSS & APQP). * Support template for good DFM, DFMEA, KCC, etc. * Build lessons learned data for all future launches. * Ensure the usage of DFSS process and tools. * Participate in audit to ensure APQP is executed per plan. * Participate in RTY improvement projects. What skills and requirements do you need? * Degree in mechanical/electrical/manufacturing Engineering * Extensive experience of APQP Flawless Launch * Design for six sigma is highly desired * The leadership skills to influence others * Knowledge of corrective action process * An understanding of risk analysis * Strong analytical skills What's important to us? * Excellent communication skills for interactions with team mates and cross functions * The skills to persuade and influence others * Inherent ability to inspire, motivate people through new and exciting targets
