The role: we are looking for an Operations Engineer to be based in our Glasgow office within our PAG team (Performance Audit Group). The role will be to undertake management agent duties delegated by the client in accordance with terms of the DBFO Scottish trunk roads contracts in place. Key Responsibilities: PAG provide Transport Scotland with services consisting of auditing, monitoring and reporting on the financial, technical and performance aspects of the operating companies and other suppliers to road networks across Scotland. - Act as a managing agent and carry out all duties required within the DBFO contracts given by the Scottish Ministers Agent for M6, M80 andM8/M73/M74 DBFO contracts - Investigate, analyse and report on technical compliance - Analyse programmes of works submitted by Suppliers and report appropriately on quality - Investigate, analyse and report on technical solutions proposed by Suppliers taking account of technical options and good practice - Liaise with other members of the services delivery team to ensure coordinated investigation, analysis and reporting to the Employer - To be fully conversant with and understand the relevant Supplier contracts - Ensure a consistent auditing and monitoring approach is undertaken by your team and provide contractual interpretation on measurement issues in liaison with the client's commercial team - Discussing/agreeing measurement issues, as well as attending measurement meetings - On site visits throughout the Scottish trunk road network, liaising with Contractors, Site Engineers and Route Inspectors The opportunity: To work for an award winning group with talented and passionate colleagues who provide the platform for you to deliver your expertise and knowledge to our client. The minimum qualifications for this position are: - Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent - Experience within the construction, management and maintenance of all aspects of a roads network - Experience of contractual and commercial issues relevant to the construction, management and maintenance of a roads network - Knowledge and experience of the operation and maintenance processes and procedures associated with roads network DBFO type contracts - Understanding the management agent role for DBFO type contracts - Demonstrable knowledge of maintenance, contractual and commercial issues relevant to the construction, management and maintenance of a roads network - Demonstrable knowledge of the operation and maintenance processes and procedures associated with roads network DBFO type contracts - This role is office based with at up to 40% travel using company pool cars Our Culture: Safety & health conscious, flexible working conditions, collaborative & friendly with regular social activities.
