Junior Category Manager
Based: Enterprise House, Ashford
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of data control, including creating and maintaining; sales Information Sheets, e- list, acquiring images for website, product hierarchies.
  • Be the Category point of contact for customer and sales force category queries, working with the Supply Chain Support Desk.
  • Take ownership of project-based tasks in order to achieve full development of the Junior Category Manager training framework (‘Building Blocks’).
  • Brakepak packaging signoff
  • Promotional input
  • Proofing of literature including promotions, chef’s list and any other printed material.
  • Providing substitute advice to supply chain on out of stock products.
Support the category manager in:
  • Using customer, market & supplier insight, support the wider category team to create a category strategy to meet sales & cash margin targets
  • Review category performance & make recommendations for improvement
  • Own category range proposition (within a SKU count budget), ensuring it is better than competitors and best in class
  • Be “the face of the category” (e.g. with sales force, key customers)
  • Develop strategic relationships with category partner suppliers
  • Deliver sector specific ranges as required
  • Own activation of category, specifically:
    • Aligned customer engagement plan with clear commercial rational
    • Supplier engagement plan
    • Manage execution of pricing strategy

Essential:
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an office environment, likely to have been in a coordinator or administrative role.
  • Confident in Microsoft packages such as excel, word, outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Ideally a degree level education
