The new schemes are diverse and technically complicated and include London Bridge Station Regeneration, Crossrail, Bank Station Regeneration, Manchester Victoria and Holytown to Midcalder Electrification (Shotts). We have an enviable reputation in the delivery of some of the UK's most prestigious and challenging schemes and we are currently working on behalf of Network Rail, Rail Operating Companies and Contractors throughout the UK on Grip 2 to 8 stages of major infrastructure projects and frameworks, designing and engineering complex technical solutions to meet / exceed our client's needs. Requirements: We are now looking to recruit an Assistant and /or a Design Engineer (OLE) with UK rail experience, to be engaged upon a portfolio of rail OLE schemes. Please note that Arcadis adhere to the rail industries Drug and Alcohol policies and you may be tested randomly for Drugs and Alcohol at any time during your employment. To be considered, we are seeking candidates with the following credentials: Minimum Academic Qualifications / Affiliations: * Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent * Member of the IET, IRSE or other recognised professional body. Essential Experience: * A minimum of 2 years' experience in OLE Design within the UK * You will be a team player, proactive and delivery focused * You will possess the enthusiasm to tackle stretch tasks * You will have flexibility to travel throughout the UK * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven planning and organisation skills * Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications Duties & Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior or Principal Engineer within the OLE Design Team, you will provide technical support into assigned projects under professional supervision for the successful delivery of technically challenging designs. Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: * Developing skills and knowledge base in both the technical and management streams * Assisting with the preparation of documentation relating to projects * Preparing design calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and other project documentation as required in line with company and client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice * Participating in the resolution of technical issues * Gaining experience and proficiency in Arcadis systems and procedures * Becoming familiar with, and compliant with, relevant Health, Safety and Welfare regulations and to promote a culture of awareness within the team * Building relationships with Clients on projects * Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis Remuneration & Benefits At Arcadis we believe in rewarding our staff for their commitment and endeavours and we have designed a flexible benefits package that we feel will suit all of our team.
