Visualisation Analyst / SQL Developer - £Market Rate + Benefits - Reading "A superb opportunity to join a rapidly growing Financial Services Company." Our Financial Services client is looking for a Visualisation Analyst. This is a truly exciting time to be joining our client as they are undergoing a period of massive growth and transformation. You will be joining the newly created Data Management team and will be responsible for finding more innovative and more effective ways to delight customers and thus earn their lasting loyalty by understanding our customers through data-based facts. Role Reporting to the Head of Data Science and Web Analytics, the Visualisation Analyst will play a pivotal role in delivering this vision through exploration, crafting and visualisation of our client's rich data. Key to this will be an integration of data from a variety of sources to provide a 360-degree view of customer behaviour. Using the data layer, the Visualisation Analyst will develop self-serve reports that permeate data-based decisions across the bank enabling an easy intuitive way to interact with the data. The Data Science and Web Analytics team are responsible for utilising our client's rich data asset to its greatest effect throughout the business. Driving an insight and decision culture that champions the innovative use of both online and offline data. Embed descriptive and predictive techniques into the Bank's decision-making processes across all platforms and lines of business. The team will be responsible for finding more innovative and more effective ways to delight customers and thus earn their lasting loyalty by understanding our customers through data-based facts. Key Accountabilities - Exploration -- Working in tandem with the Data Governance and Data Management team, Data Stewards and other subject matter experts to identify data pools across the bank and plug into the central data warehouse. Define definitions and metrics for standardised KPI's - Prototyping -- Initiatives to extract and combine data sources to develop a rich 360-degree view of the customer. Develop reporting layer to power the visualisation suite - Visualisation - Develop rich self-serve dashboards that answer and pre-empt business questions. Permeate dashboards across the business in a timely manner to embed a culture of data led decision making - Story Telling - Focus on the story the data shows and opportunities. Abstract the data complexities and process involved. - Analytical Roadmap - Develop requirements that the MIS team can deploy data into the data warehouse - Ensure best practice of deployment and use of dashboards - Deputises for the Head of Data Science and Web Analytics in relation to data and analytics responsibilities as required Experience - Experience of identifying and working with disparate data sources and the necessary tools to integrate and harvest data - Strong technical experience in full Microsoft SQL Server stack (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS). Experience with Big Data environments (Hadoop / HBase) advantageous - Advanced knowledge of SQL scripting to aggregate data views and drive insights - Technical knowledge of Data Warehousing Methodologies. - Strong visual design skills used in creating interactive information dense, easy to understand reports and dashboards in Tableau and open source tools - Experience working with stakeholders and end-users to define, test, elicit and deliver technical and functional data and reporting solutions - Analytical mind-set with ability to clearly explain technical details to non-technical audience - Collaboration skills to work across the organisation with many different virtual team and stakeholders - Educated to degree level - Desirable - Financial services experience - Desirable In return a Competitive, Market Rate compensation package including very generous benefits is available For more information send your CV or call Mike to discuss your experience.
