Position Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Manager within the Finance Operations Centre, in our West Bromwich Office. To manage and run the Accounts Payable function ensuring that deadlines and internal procedures are adhered to.

The Accounts Payable manager will have a large team to manage and lead and will be required to maintain key relationships within and outside the FOC.

This position will initially be based at our office in West Bromwich until we relocate early 2018 to Solihull.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision and development of the Accounts Payable team.
  • Actively drive Accounts Payable process improvements to move from below par to best practice.
  • Ensure that the Accounts Payable plans and goals are consistent with established Finance Operations Centre goals.
  • Provide information and recommendations to the Head of Transaction Services to develop and implement new services/policies/procedures for Accounts Payable.
  • Provide a core service of accurate and efficient processing in Accounts Payable.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, as well as HMRC inspectors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, both internal and external, and key business representatives.
  • To ensure outsource support is provided to business, in line with agreed service levels and any checklists are reviewed and actioned in a timely manner and that queries are logged, prioritised and resolved or escalated promptly.
  • Develop and maintain a reputable workforce to achieve an effective balance between short and long term objectives. Mentor and coach to ensure continued professional development of team while achieving departmental metrics.
  • Provide a core service of accurate and efficient processing in Accounts Payable.
  • Address employee related issues, completing performance appraisals, development plans, etc. Actively involve on open position interviews and candidate selections. Responsible for payroll management and monitoring staffing schedules to ensure adequate department coverage. Establish SMART goals for entire organization holding them accountable.
  • Conduct performance appraisals as assigned. Provide measurable feedback to Accounts Payable staff and suggestions for improved performance.
Other
  • Ensure timely completion of reports and other documentation.
  • Ensure that training and development needs are met and provide assistance and support as needed.
  • Maintain all required documentation in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Conduct performance appraisals as assigned. Provide measurable feedback to Accounts Payable staff and suggestions for improved performance.
  • To set goals and clear expectations and develop team and individual performance using the firm’s Performance Review process furthermore regularly reviewing performance with team leaders, ensuring staff are working towards meeting objectives and delivering high quality outputs.


What we are looking for

  • Significant managerial experience in a large Accounts Payables dept, preferably in a Shared Service Centre environment.
  • Worked in project environment
  • Shared Service Centre experience
  • MS Office Products – Advanced (Vlookup / Pivot) - Required
  • Readsoft OCR Solution – Useful
  • MS Dynamics AX 2009 – Useful
  • +40 Invoices per hour processing
  • Large Team / Organisation
  • Senior Management presentation skills
  • Problem Solving
AAT qualified - desirable
