The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority based in the outskirts of Oxfordshire is looking for an Administration and Payroll Advisor to come onboard as soon as possible for a period of 6 months. The overall purpose of this role is to take responsibility for the HR administration function, overseeing the payroll function and ensuring all transactional HR activities are carried out in a timely and efficient manner. Accountabilities: * Responsible for overseeing all pay actions and collaboration with the Payroll provider to address and follow up any pay-related issues, identifying improvements to processes. This is a vital business operation which requires attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and a knowledge of payroll and application of pay rules. Note that UKAEA use a third party payroll provider. This role oversees pay changes entered into Agresso/Unit 4 system and transfer of that data to the third party for external payroll processing. * Full management of two HR Administrators, responsible for ensuring that the HR admin function is carried out accurately and in a timely manner and also developing good/efficient team working. First point of contact for all generalist HR administration issues/queries and advising on interpretation of CEMs to employees * Ensuring that HR user guidance for the ERP system is appropriate and kept up-to-date and that the generalist admin team understand, and can operate, the system. This will involve developing a deep understanding of the ERP system. * Responsible for identifying improvements/simplification to the systems/processes including regular proactive review of HR documentation/administration processes and ensuring that checklists are adhered to. * Responsible for management of sickness absence (ensuring that sickness paperwork is in place and that appropriate pay action is taken). * Responsible for overseeing production of regular metrics to ensure that HR activities are being carried out (ie return to work forms entered, medical certificates entered, working time regulations adhered to) * Secretary to consultation meetings with TU including taking minutes, following up actions etc. * Contribute to HR projects as required. * Liaison with the pension provider with regards to year end data for Employee Pension statements, year-end data validation and general pension queries from employees and the pension provider. Specific Qualifications/Experience: * In-depth knowledge of payroll arrangements/working with an external payroll provider. * Payroll qualification or attendance on payroll specific course (desirable) * Experience of managing others (essential) * Experience of HR/organisation ERP systems ie Unit 4 / SAP / Oracle (essential) * Knowledge of Employment Law (essential) * Familiarity with a claims database system (desirable) * CIPD qualification (desirable) * Advanced skills with Excel, Word and Outlook (essential) If you believe this role is right for you, please send your CV to Jess : or apply directly following the link.
