You will be responsible to provide technical support and guidance, as the Subject Matter Expert (SME), plus supplying analysis and interpretation of tax and pension legislation to both the Operations and Financial Operations departments as part of the Vitality Invest offering. The role is to ensure that the product control framework complies with relevant requirements and that it delivers excellent customer outcomes. Responsibilities as our Pension Technical Analyst include: - Have extensive knowledge of current UK legislation (i.e. HMRC, TPR, FCA & PRA) by acting as a SME within the organisation. - Provide technical input to new projects/initiatives.Significant experience of pensions' law and its application. - Excellent knowledge and understanding of HMRC and TPR requirements, regulatory codes of practice and guidance. - Have a broad understanding of financial products within the UK markets including (but not limited to) UCITS/NURS, Investment Trusts, Structured Products, ETFs, PAIFs - knowledge should include tax implications and distributions types/tax. - Answer calls/respond to queries from advisers of a technical nature on an execution only basis - Provide technical support on client tax reporting - Undertake various calculations and reports from back office in order to aid in the production and submission of HMRC and other regulatory reporting obligations, within set deadlines - Undertake testing, of a technical nature, in both the web and the back office system - Produce/review internal procedures and processes; identifying gaps, risks and/or issues so they can they can be effectively managed/mitigated - Work with training manager to provide technical training to internal staffing, communicating complex technical concepts in an easy to understand way. - Take personal ownership and responsibilities to resolving both internal and external technical queries; escalating where required - Understand business risk appetite and work within the limits at all times. To become our Pension Technical Analyst, you will have the below skills and experience: Essential - Extensive regulatory knowledge - Extensive product knowledge - Proven experience in similar role - Relevant Financial Services qualifications (for example CF1, CF2 , FA2 or Pensions Management Institute Certification (PMI) or Qualification in Pensions Administration (QPA)) Desirable - Platform/Wrap/Pension Administrator experience - Degree in Business or Management or equivalent professional qualification (R04, R08, J05) - Excel skills (Intermediate) Working for Vitality as an experienced Pension Technical Analyst, you'll experience an exciting mix of creativity and innovation, within a framework of challenging objectives and a passion for delivering the best.
