Serco manage the COMPASS (Commercial and Operational Managers Procuring Asylum and Support) Contracts covering the North West of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland and are responsible for the provision of support services for persons claiming asylum, granted refugee status. These services include the provision of predominantly accommodation, transportation and associated services to assist service users settle in their new location.

Overview of the role

As a Compliance Officer you will primarily ensure that Serco continues to deliver against the contractual obligations as agreed with the Home Office. You will carry out property inspections to ensure an excellent standard of service across the portfolio, and check all repairs are carried out within contractual timescales. You will report all findings along with any robust and supporting evidence, and recommend any enhancements to the Performance Manager.

You will act as an interface for providing feedback to the business and report all activities and root causes of performance failures.

About you

As the successful candidate you will demonstrate experience of working in an assurance role and ideally have knowledge of the housing sector. You will be able to demonstrate a solid and checkable work history and provide references.

You will have a natural analytical approach to your work and show a high attention to detail. Due to the nature of the contract you will be able to show integrity, honesty and be willing to work alone in an independent role.

It is essential for you to have good IT skills and have the ability to use all Microsoft Programmes including Excel and Word.

The successful candidate for this role will have experience in delivering excellent customer service and ideally have worked with customers/clients of varying cultures and backgrounds, along with excellent organisational, verbal and written communication skills.

Specific Requirements

Please note this role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all offers of employment are subject to security clearance checks, approval by the Home Office, and satisfactory employment references.

The successful candidate will also need to have a Full Driving Licence, pass a Counter Terrorist Check and must have the right to live and work in the UK.

From time to time there will be a requirement for you to travel to some of the other sites in the North West, Scotland and Northern Ireland, so the ability to travel throughout the UK is essential.
