Job Description – Accounts Administrator

A well-established, vibrant technology and communications business based on the outskirts of Chichester is seeking an enthusiastic, organised, flexible and experienced Accounts Administrator to join the team. The role is part time 30 hours per week, to be worked over five 6 hour days.

This is a part time permanent position and is an integral part of our dedicated team, supporting an ever-growing business.

Main Responsibility
The main purpose of the role is to record and process all financial transactions, including purchase and sales invoices, receipts and payments for all bank accounts. Transactions will be posted to Sage accounting software and accounts reconciled to ensure accuracy, all in accordance with basic accounting principles. The software used in the business is Sage 50 so previous experience of this package is essential.

Job Description
We are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Administrator for the business. The candidate will play an integral role in the team ensuring the efficient and timely input, processing and reconciliation of all financial data. Duties will include:

Processing high volumes of financial documentation in a timely manner into Sage 50
Matching, batching and nominal coding of all financial documents
Correct application of VAT codes
Bank reconciliations for all bank accounts
Preparation and filing of VAT returns
Processing and input of staff expenses
Credit Control
Regular production of KPI reports using Sage and/or MS Excel
Dealing with all accounts queries
Undertake any other duties which may be required by management commensurate to the role

The Person
The successful candidate will have excellent numeracy skills having worked as an Accounts Administrator or equivalent previously. You will have previously used Sage 50 and be aware of the need for complete accuracy and attention to detail. We are looking for a flexible, self- motivated, enthusiastic individual who sets themselves high standards and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Skills & Experience you must have:
A good understanding of double entry bookkeeping

Previous experience and an extensive working knowledge of Sage level 2 is essential but level 3 is preferred
Strong IT skills including a good working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and Word
Ability to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy, strong attention to detail and to manage and coordinate changing priorities
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
Previous experience of working in a fast-paced office environment as part of a team
Ability to communicate and liaise professionally with customers and suppliers as well as internal colleagues including Senior Managers and Directors

Previous experience of running a small payroll would be advantageous
Salary: Between £20,000 - £23,000 pro rata
Job Type: Part-time

A full UK driving licence would be beneficial given the location of the offices
