The IT Support Technician role The IT department, based in St Albans, supports and maintains the global IT and communication infrastructure for over 150 end users. The IT Support Technician will assist in providing IT support to all computer equipment (PCs, Macs and servers), mobile devices and computer peripherals in all global locations across our growing business. IT Support Technician key responsibilities and accountabilities: - To provide a knowledgeable first contact with users, answering queries and offering fixes mainly in person but also via email, Skype and remote assistance sessions. - Resolve software/hardware issues including crashes, passwords and permissions errors - Take ownership of user's issues and be proactive in logging and resolving them swiftly and correctly. - Set-up and configuration of both PC and Mac desktops/laptops for new users - Adopt a pro-active approach to ongoing application and O/S upgrades for our entire computer and server infrastructure - Assisting with internal desk moves and larger ad-hoc projects involving IT IT Support Technician qualifications and experience: - Minimum of two years' experience within an IT support environment - Working knowledge/experience of Microsoft based operating systems - (Windows 10, Server 2012, 2016) - Confident with administration tasks within Office 365, Microsoft - Exchange and Active Directory - An understanding of networking fundamentals, such as ipv4, DHCP, DNS, etc., - Previous support experience with Skype, Sharepoint and Azure would be advantageous - An understanding of IT security technologies, principles and policies The ideal Support Technician will need the following: - Confident and positive attitude - Excellent relationship builder - Able to work autonomously - Uses initiative - Team player - Keen eye for detail - Excellent written and verbal communication skills IT Support Technician Benefits: - 25 days holiday plus public holidays - Private Medical Cover - Matched-contribution Pension scheme up to 3% - Competitive Salary - Life Assurance (4 x salary) - Cycle to Work Scheme - Childcare Vouchers - Corporate discount for gym membership (location-dependent) and employee - discount scheme with exclusive offers - Discretionary bonus scheme for all employees If you feel you are suitable for this IT Support Technician role then please apply today!
