Junior Finance Manager - Shared Costs Role The role is based in the Shared Costs Finance Team in Peterborough, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager - Shared Costs, with two direct reports. The principle responsibility of the role is accounting for shared cost areas and the associated balance sheet accounts. Management of stakeholders and development of the Shared Costs team are fundamental to the success of the role. Responsibilities Shared Cost Accounting * Monitoring of the weekly results reporting and submission of shared costs weekly results (on rotation basis) * Monthly review of cost centres and discussion with business stakeholders * Review of weekly and monthly results and preparation of commentary for management * Review of monthly headcount positions * Ownership of the P&L month end process * Preparation and delivery of budgets and forecasts for business areas * Responsibility of balance sheet accounts for operations shared costs Business Partnership Support * Assist with the provision of finance and decision support to the business stakeholders Team Management * Management and development of the team * Work closely with the other Junior Finance Manager - Shared Costs for other cost areas to ensure coherence between the teams Other duties * TM1 management of weekly set up process, and submission of results to Group Reporting cubes * Continuous review of financial information to ensure it is appropriate and relevant * Recommend and implement best working practices for the team * Proactively identify and highlight relevant issues for the both Finance and Business areas * Ad hoc tasks as required Technical skill requirement * Qualified accountant with one to three years post qualification experience * Experience of compiling budgets and forecasts * Commercially aware coupled with strong accounting skills * Experience of stakeholder management * Development of team to ensure full engagement across relevant stakeholders, enabling influence over business decision making * TM1 knowledge preferable Personal attributed required * Drive and enthusiasm to develop the role and realise process efficiency * Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders * A team player, who is able to motivate the team and work to achieving common goals * Capable of flexibility and working with ambiguity Closing date Friday 15th September About Us, News UK is a great company full of talented, dedicated and creative people.
