SYSTEMS ENGINEER Purpose of the Role The Systems Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the products and solutions developed by Exsel Dytecna meet the customers and stakeholders requirements. Systems Engineering is an interdisciplinary approach and means to enable the realization of successful systems. It focuses on defining customer needs and required functionality early in the development cycle, documenting requirements, and then proceeding with design synthesis and system validation while considering the complete problem. The successful candidate will join the Systems Engineering team, supporting the company's projects and design and development processes. He/she will work closely with peers applying Exsel Dytecna's capabilities to the government, defence, financial and industrial sectors. Key Responsibilities - Develop system specifications, acceptance plans, acceptance test plans, qualification plans and similar documents. - Assistance in the introduction of new best practices and processes into the company. - Undertake and coordinate system development tasks to include design, integration, formal testing, and transitions into production. - Undertake meticulous functional, non-functional and interface verification and validation of systems. - Prepare verification and validation requirements compliance matrices and reports. - Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to ensure efficient planning and execution - Manage and document system configurations. - Support user trials and installations. - To provide estimates and technical proposals to support business development and project management. - Undertake such other activities as are required to ensure successful completion of the above. Key Competencies - Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities. - Good communication and inter-personal abilities, able to work as part of a team or independently. - Results oriented with a drive to succeed and achieve targets. - Creative problem solver with the ability to work under pressure and time constraints - Diligence and reliability, sound judgement and decision making ability. - Successfully present technical information. - Computer literate, especially Microsoft Office. - Experience in the use of software tools for requirements management and systems modelling is desirable. Qualifications - A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline, ideally Electronics or Software. General - The job holder will have a current driving licence. - Ability to be flexible and work outside core hours on occasion. - Regular travel to other Exsel Dytecna sites. - Ability to work in the UK with no restrictions. - Must meet security vetting criteria. - Participate in the performance review process, identifying development areas and strengths and undertaking continuous professional development. - Participate in continuous improvement activities within the company.
