Sample Coordinator - Clinical Pathology We are currently recruiting for a Sample Coordinator within our Covance Harrogate site. A sample Coordinator performs a variety of sample accession responsibilities in compliance with appropriate SOPs, GLP, GCP, EHS and regulatory guidelines, in support of Clinical Pathology study execution. The Sample Coordinator will perform the following tasks: - Performs any combination of sample accession tasks, including opening, entering, and posting of samples - Reviews sample inventory against samples received to ensure accuracy and communicate discrepancies - Confirmation of sample receipt to clients - Entry of sample demographic information - Data clean up-Identification, reporting and resolution of discrepancies during sample receipt and highlighting to any responsible personnel for the study - Ensure accurate paperwork is maintained for all samples received into the department.Prepares samples for analysis as required - Handles incoming samples from various departments/units, Animal House, Necropsy, CCRU and External Clients - Individual has a responsibility to conduct all work in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and specifically, those regulations (GLP, GCP) specified in the study plans, protocols, or work agreements governing the work in which they are involved - Able to adapt techniques to new procedures - Plans individual workload in collaboration with the team so that deadlines are met - Effectively schedules multiple assigned tasks - Introduces and develops improvement ideas for the group - Responsible for upkeep and accuracy of sample tracking systems - Demonstrate a knowledge and use of data systems - Nautilus, Clinaxys II - Demonstrate good communication skills and effective liaison with team members and other departments Experience - Some previous practical laboratory experience in a similar environment would be an advantage - Good communication skills and an ability to work within appropriate company procedures - Ability to utilise word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and specialised software on personal computers Education - GCSE's, A-levels or equivalent To submit your application for this Sample Coordinator opportunity, please click 'Apply' to be redirected to our Covance careers page.
