We are looking to recruit an experienced Technician to join our client's Mouse Biology group. You will be working within their immunisation team performing immunisations and sample collection for our Vaccine program. Microinjection (Blastocyst/Cytoplasmic injection) and Cryopreservation skills would be preferable. This is a full time permanent position, situated in Cambridge.
You will have the opportunity to put your experimental skills to good use as well as learn new techniques. Your experimental duties will be varied including opportunities to utilise cutting-edge technologies for the identification and characterisation of cells, generating data that is key to the progression of our projects.
? Main responsibilities will include immunisation with novel vaccines, and sample collection
? Microinjection (Blastocyst/Cytoplasmic injection) and cryopreservation (preferred, or after suitable training)
? Accurate data entry using an in-house database and Excel files will be an essential part of your role to maintain records of procedural and other lab work
? As an experienced Animal Technician you will work closely with named individuals and with other team members to maintain welfare records
? As part of an expending team you will bring your technical skills into a fast moving working environment, providing essential data that helps drive projects forward
? You must hold a current Home Office Personal Licence, with modules 1-3 and preferably module 4
? Experience working as a Licensed Animal Technician in a research environment is preferable
? Use of regulated procedures including Intraperitoneal, Subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous and intradermal injections is preferable, full training will be given on procedural work
? You must hold a full driving licence and possess a vehicle as the role requires driving between two sites
Basic knowledge of laboratory techniques is advantageous, however full training will be given to the right candidate.
We require someone with a keen eye for detail who is able to produce accurate records and reports.
We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic and willing to improve their skill set through training and mastering new techniques.
