Project Portfolio Manager - Staffordshire

£70,000 - 90,000

Start Date - Immediate

An industry leading company are looking to hire an excellent infrastructure engineer for their head office in Staffordshire. You will work within the company's technology function and be responsible for planning, execution and delivery of technology change. You will run an idea through requirement, design, build, test, implementation and into operations.

The Role

You will report into the Head of the Project and Programme Delivery Function, the purpose of your role is to take full ownership of a portfolio which underpins the Project and Programme departments full programme of work.

You will have a delivery focused mindset and be comfortable with having full ownership in your roles. It is important that you are comfortable with staff management and general governance.

  • You have excellent planning and organisational techniques, combined with interpersonal and facilitation skills that provide the ability to communicate confidently, effectively and clearly at all levels.
  • Previous exposure to dealing directly with technical functions including architecture, software development, test, release, management, database, network, platform and IT operations.
  • Broad knowledge of project management terminology, tools and techniques.
  • Pragmatic approach to delivery, giving real consideration to the best and most efficient way to plan and release solutions.
  • An understanding of a variety of test approaches (functional and non-functional).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Project knowledge and Microsoft Office skills.
  • A drive to contribute to continuous improvement of Project Delivery and PMO within the business.
Delivery Knowledge and Qualifications
  • Previous exposure to working within a large IT function specialising in the delivery of complex projects.
  • Past expsore to various software delivery lifecycle methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.
  • Knowledge of managing simultaneous deliveries across a variety of technology platforms and software.
  • Qualifications in recognised project, programme and portfolio management methods are desirable.
