An opportunity has arisen for a Group Communications Manager to work at our Head Office in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire. Working closely with our Executive Team, the Group Communications Manager will establish Internal and External organisational messages and keep staff informed of developments through several channels such as newsletters, bulletins, email alerts, leadership briefings, road shows, exhibitions and social media. The main duties and responsibilities will typically include the following: - Deliver communications to raise awareness of and embed the company's strategy, vision and values, creating a clear line of sight from the business strategy through to employee objectives. - Develop, design and deliver an internal communications strategy that drives business results. - Influence and coach senior leaders demonstrating the value that internal communications can bring. - Create and deliver news campaigns across all media. - Conduct an audit of internal communication to gauge effectiveness and people engagement. - Manage communication agencies making sure that we derive value from this investment. - Assist with rejuvenating, refreshing and re-establishing The Group's approach to its brand, vision and values, ensuring an integrated approach to internal and external communications activities. - Design, support and deliver community engagement plans. - Develop a group-wide sponsorship strategy and manage NM Groups major sponsorship schemes and corporate partnerships to maximise publicity and benefit. - Build strong relations with key publications. - Ensure organisational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to our people and stakeholders. - Deliver presentations at organisational events. - Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and divisions. - Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages. - Handle the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect organisational perception and reputation. Skills and Qualifications - Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees. - Strong speaking skills as you are likely to be called on to give presentations to employees. - Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills in order to work with all stakeholders. You also need to possess the confidence to deal with the senior executives and explain communication techniques to them. - Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video means of communication, is essential. - A BA in journalism, communications, public relations or marketing is an advantage, though other degrees are acceptable. A professional qualification from the Chartered Institute of Public Relations or the Chartered Institute of Marketing would be desirable. - Experience of working in a communications team/role, especially internal communication, for a large organisation, is most sought after. But experience of writing for a variety of different audiences is also desired. General journalistic or marketing experience is beneficial.
