Job Title: Credit Controller Location: North Shields Salary: Competitive Purpose of Role: The Credit Controller's role will proactively, efficiently & effectively chase customers for payment of accounts, ensuring that working capital is maximised. A large part of the individual's role is to enhance and add value to the credit control service already provided by finance, by means of constant review of customer accounts & liaising with the sales team. Key Responsibilities of the Credit Controller: - Reducing & maintaining aged debt/overdue debt to within group targets - Proactive chasing of customer accounts prior to due date to ensure prompt payment - Prompt query resolution. Liaising with sales/operation teams to resolve queries - Maintenance of customer master data - ensuring contact details are up to date & general debt chasing comments are updated in the system - Delivering weekly cash receipts targets - Checking of customer statements prior to issue - Weekly account updates for Credit Control Manager & Chief Finance Officer - Account Status update/report for sales team customer visits. - Monthly general housekeeping on customer accounts (i.e. ensure small write offs are completed) - Ensure that internal stakeholders Credit Control Manager & Chief Finance Officer are made aware of problem accounts - Any adhoc tasks as required Requirements of the Credit Controller: Essential: - At least 2 years in a Credit Control environment - Time management - Excellent IT skills including Microsoft packages - Word, Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to build relationships via telephone and e-mail communication - Ability to meet tight deadlines - Attention to detail, accuracy and consistency - Ability to interact successfully with people at all levels, requiring skills in diplomacy and tact - Flexible approach to dealing with ever changing priorities and deadlines - Ability to work as part of a team Desirable: - Previous experience of dealing with Overseas Customers - Relevant qualification /experience in a Credit Control / Finance environment - Relevant experience in sector or service industry Benefits of becoming the Credit Controller: - 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays - Company Health Plan, Death in Service Benefit & Pension scheme after successful completion of probation period If you feel that you meet the above criteria of the Credit Controller role then please apply now!
