Siemens Building Technologies is currently recruiting for a technical support engineer for our growing CPS fire products channel. The role will require you to provide technical support and training to our fire products customers such as value added partners and distributors. We are looking for a primarily office based person and are willing to consider employing a fully experienced engineer or somebody that can demonstrate the desire to work within an established team to build up their knowledge, experience and ability to progress. What are my responsibilities? - Primarily office based providing technical support on fire products. - Customer product support via telephone and email - Assisting trainers with delivering training courses to customers. - Assist with the creation of UK specific training materials - Assisting with product testing as required - Technical support also via site visits (as necessary). - Maintain internal records of technical support activity - Keep abreast of new technologies/products, and best practice. - Provide market and technical feedback to staff in Frimley and/or HQ (Product Managers, etc). - Maintenance of existing training course material, and development of new material as necessary. - Actively share knowledge and information (e.g. via Extranet, FAQs, and other means). - Manage internal server files for technical documents - Report technical issues back to HQ hotline and pro-actively control known technical issues. - Conform to required health & safety guidelines and practices. What do I need to qualify for the role? - Experience in a range of business situations - Ability to display a level of confidence and experience - Interest in fire products and systems - Logical approach to fault-finding, organized approach - Good interpersonal skills, telephone manner, etc. - Willingness to provide good customer service - Confident user of IT technology - General interest in engineering - Recognized qualification - 5 GCSE grade C or equivalent - Engineering qualifications in electronic/electrical or relevant business experience. - Desire to learn new skills - Team player - Customer focus How do I apply?
