North SME Regional Team are looking for a number of Underwriting Manager Roles which will be either based in Leeds or Manchester. This role is a Grade D level role and reports directly to the Head of Trading.

Purpose of the role is to Lead a team of Trading Underwriters Grades B-D, to develop relationships with brokers and clients to proactively grow the business and increase revenue and profit. You will need to understand the demand into the team, what matters to the brokers and use this knowledge to constantly improve the system.

Responsible for Profit and Loss, and growth of your own Team typically between (£5-£40mill) with a team of between 8-15 people.

The Team

The UK SME team are responsible for all commercial customers with up to £100mill turnover, across the 5 regional teams and our digital team which predominantly writes business online. Our purpose as a team is to provide insurance solutions for commercial customers.

We trade the majority of our business through Insurance Brokers.

You’ll understand that working within our governance frameworks to make sure we’re risk compliant as an organisation is fundamental.
