Strategic Pricing Manager - Cheltenham

Salary: Competitive

Our Client a global manufacturer is looking for an experienced Strategic Pricing Manager to join the business. The objective of the role is to support profitability and sales within the UK Sales area of the business through delivering existing and approved pricing strategies. You will be a key decision maker on pricing and discount policies. The ideal candidate will need strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, mathematical and analytical skills. This is a permanent position.

Responsibilities

Manage and deliver a strategic pricing program in respect of:

  • Product sales; project sale; services sales; embedding value-based pricing theory; ensuring compliance to divisional pricing strategy

Sales Improvement

  • Conduct an annual pricing review
  • Regular reviews of cadence and margin improvement programs
  • Take responsibility for increasing hit rate of business
  • Lead the build of back-office systems to support an advanced pricing process

Strategic business partnering, to achieve optimal pricing performance, at all levels, including:

  • UK Sales (external teams); UK Sales Leadership Team; Group Product Development; EMEA Strategic Pricing Manager

Pricing performance analysis

  • Exception reporting to business areas
  • Proactive management of profit leakage
  • Sales Reporting and Analysis
  • Monitoring and Reporting of Pricing related KPI's - EPI, SPI, PPI, ROA, etc
  • Analysis and reporting of key indices

Key Requirements

Essential

  • Experience/exposure to a modern accounting system
  • Good knowledge of pricing strategies and business information systems
  • Computer literate, particularly in relation to use of spreadsheets (Excel)
  • Remain calm and professional under pressure
  • Self-disciplined and flexible
  • Good interpersonal skills

Skills and Competencies

  • Effective and confident communicator from a financial and non-financial background
  • Good planning and administration skills
  • Enquiring analytical mind
  • Resourceful and uses own initiative

Desirable

  • Previous strategic pricing experience
  • Knowledge of existing pricing structure
  • Qualified professional (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
  • A recognised degree in a business subject, MBA or affiliated member of a recognised accounting body
