Payroll Team Leader Norwich Job ID: R-56927 Full time We have an exciting opportunity to join the Aviva UK &I Payroll team as a Team Leader on a 12 month fixed term contract/secondment basis to help drive the team forward and help make continuous improvement strides for the benefit of the team and our colleagues across the UK business. As a Team Leader within the Payroll team, you'll be responsible for the development of team capability, building process and SME expertise and ensuring the Payroll team is fully competent and prepared for all demand during the monthly payroll cycle, with an ability to work to tight deadlines. You'll ensure the delivery of payroll processes, focused on accurate and timely provision of payments and deductions and support and guidance throughout the payroll cycle to colleagues and customers. This includes effectively managing a relationship with a third party provider. You'll actively review processes with your team, simplifying and removing complexity at every opportunity with the aim of getting it right first time. Additionally you'll support HR strategic projects and small enhancements, including system upgrades and legislative changes, working with project teams across People Services to ensure successful implementation. You'll support effective coverage of demand across the People Services teams, working collaboratively to understand resource requirements and flex resource appropriately. Essential Knowledge and Skills: - Previous experience leading in a Systems Thinking way and/or operational management - Great coaching ability with team members - Excellent communication and influencing skills through various methods. - Payroll related knowledge an advantage. - High-level, broad-based understanding of HR Policy UK & Ireland. - Knowledge of statutory obligations affecting payroll systems UK & Ireland. - Good numerical skills with an attention to detail. - Computer literacy of systems such as Excel and Workday. - Regulatory requirements; including TCF, money laundering and Data Protection. - Previous experience working with suppliers or customers is advantageous.
