NCC Group’s managed security services team are looking to recruit a Senior Engineer who has experience working with DDI. Our managed security services team is an established, dynamic, agile IT & Information security provider operating from both Reading and Leeds.

We have a strong track record of defining, implementing and supporting both security and IPAM (Internet Protocol Address Management) solutions and services for customers across a variety of industries. This role is based in Reading.

Key Responsibilities (include):This position offers an opportunity to join a dynamic technical support team which provides front line technical support for NCC’s IPAM products and services. This role will focus on providing supplying software solutions in the network management area for large, multi-national blue-chip customers in the Domain Name Service (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and IP Address Management (IPAM) space specializing in the following vendors:

  • Infoblox
  • Alcatel Lucent VitalQIP
  • Bluecat
Main responsibilities will include first, second and third line telephone technical support enquiries from customers and provide technical support, workarounds and solutions for customer problems.

As the role is a senior position, there will be a requirement to lead the managed service changes which will involve some configuration as well as other changes on customer facing servers.

Key Skills:
  • Experience in Supporting DDI, DNS and DHCP (ISC Bind rather than Microsoft)
  • Microsoft Server 2003 + AD Skills
  • Sybase Database Operations Knowledge
  • Red Hat Linux/Solaris.
  • VMWare – Virtual machine software
  • Experience working on a helpdesk, IT environment.
  • Networking knowledge.
  • Full UK Driving License

Desirable

  • Analytical skills
  • Experience with one of the Vendor products we support (Infoblox/Nokia/Bluecat)
  • Good knowledge of IT necessary, preferably service-provider based.
