RLE International is working on behalf of their Midlands based Automotive OEM Client, whom are currently looking conducting a huge recruitment drive with various roles within their Special Vehicle Operations Division, which operates as a nimble "business within a business" and is focused towards increasing profitability through leveraging our customers' desire to personalise their vehicles. Within SO there are two sub-divisions, Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) and Vehicle Personalisation (VP). Key strategic elements include: - Pushing the boundaries of the OEM brands to provide customers with more premium & luxury vehicles. - Developing a range of accessories to enhance the sporting and lifestyle attributes of our vehicle range. - Enhancing the premium customer experience through vehicle personalisation and exclusivity. For the opportunity of being invited along to a Recruitment Open Day, Recruitment Event on Monday 16th October at 10am - 5pm, Warwick , please read on. 4x Programme Planner Positions - Experience of programme management and/or strategic planning and with a good technical understanding of the whole vehicle. - Will have some experience of leading projects including financial content, have excellent written and verbal communication capabilities and be ready to collaborate with a broad set of stake-holders. - An interest in and a demonstrable breadth of knowledge of the automotive industry, with an awareness of markets, brands and customer needs particularly those relevant to JLR and SVO. Should have some understanding of how economic, technological and political factors influence JLR. - Ability to analyse data and present conclusions using Excel and PowerPoint etc. - Knowledge of PCDS toolset including iPLM/Programme Central preferred SVO Body and Electrical Engineering Team (Fen End) 1x Platform Lead Engineer - Provides a single point of contact per vehicle platform for the engineering team working with a wide range of people across the department. - Leads the engineering delivery on all projects on a specific Platform - It is essential that the individual has worked in an engineering delivery role, ideally with whole vehicle experience. - Experience of GPDS / PCS and all engineering planning and delivery processes is essential i.e. AIM's, DFMEA, eFDVS / RMDV, WERS. 3x Internal Trim Project Engineers - Leads the development and delivery of internal trim features of new vehicle programmes. - Must be experienced in all aspects including mechanical properties, testing, packaging, CAD, CAE, and manufacturing feasibility. - You will need to be able to work and lead these activities cross functionally with internal and external partners and suppliers. - You will be required to deliver against project timings and metrics to ensure the delivery of the commodities. - Knowledge of JLR product development toolsets preferred but not essential. SVO Business Management Team (Gaydon) 1x Vehicle Systems Strategy Planner - 42040139 - Essential - Engineering background or ability to understand engineering principles. - Understanding of vehicle systems and interactions. - Experience of Vehicle System Strategy and Product Creation Deliver System process. - Organised and logical approach. - Ability to represent SVO/VP in various senior forums. - Desirable - An appreciation of the SVO/VP business, the products we produce and how they're differentiated from the core products. - Good product and brand knowledge including competitors and an awareness of global industry trends. - 2+ years of experience in an engineering or programme planning role. SVO Chassis and Powertrain Engineering Team (Split between Gaydon & Fen End) 5x Chassis Engineers - 42036139 (Chassis Systems Control Engineer), - Proven experience of delivering hardware & system integration of EPAS, ABS, ESP, including decoupled braking systems from concept through to production. - Candidates must have a solid understanding of first principles specifically in these chassis control systems in order to lead problem resolution sessions and reach compatible cross functional solutions. Able to work with and manage suppliers where required in all engineering aspects - Position is for an experienced candidate with approximately. 10 years of knowledge & hands on experience of developing hardware & systems of the chassis control systems - 42025250 (Brakes Engineer) - Understanding of first principles of foundation braking systems is key for this applicant. Applicant should have some experience of delivering foundation braking components (brake callipers, friction linings & brake rotors) - Position is for an engineer with some experience of delivering foundation braking systems. Approx 3 years. - 42043046 (Brakes Performance Attribute Engineer) - Experienced Brakes Performance Test Engineer. Engineer must have hands on experience of conducting in vehicle brake testing programmes - Position is for an experienced engineer who has had approximately 6 to 10 years experience - 41009689 (Wheel Delivery Engineer) - Have experience of delivering cast and or forged alloy wheels. Knowledge of casting and forging manufacturing processes, DVP processes, sign off mechanical & environmental testing. - Position for an engineer with a minimum of 5 years delivery experience. - SAP TBC (Springs/ Dampers/ Links/ Knuckles Engineer) - Position for an engineer with a minimum of 5 years delivery experience. Vehicle Personalisation (VP) - Special Projects Team (Fen End) 2x Bespoke Product Engineers - Job description - to oversee the development for manufacture of new Bespoke Interior and Exterior components on New and Existing projects from Concept to Launch. - Investigate initial commodity engineering feasibility liaising with suppliers/Core engineering and test labs - Define the product scope and the commodity and subsystem effects. - Support and lead supplier interaction for commodity development - Initial drawing creation and release to supplier - Maintain and update on-going status of commodity progress - Candidate needs to be flexible in the approach to projects and be able to appraise issues associated with ultra-low volume projects. Vehicle Personalisation (VP) - Engineering Team (Fen End) 3x Project Engineers - The role involves development and delivery of exterior trim and protection for future vehicle programmes. This includes front and rear bumper systems, mud flaps, winch systems, vents, grille. The engineer will typically work with the planning and design teams to develop a solution and then liaise with suppliers for delivery. - 3 years PMST/Engineering Delivery Experience for Plastic/Structural/Functional parts - Automotive Engineering experience with an understanding of automotive product creation and delivery tools like GPDS/PCS/PCDS - Experience of having launched products on at least 1 car programme, from initial concept through to final launch stages - Supplier management - Quality tools like FMEA and problem solving - RFQ process - PDS creation - Releasing and WERS - Issue Management - AIMS - Requirement Management - eFDVS/RMDV - iPLM - Testing and Validation of plastic and structural components - Good understanding of materials and manufacturing technology - Software Skills - PC Literate, MS Office Proficiency, MS Project knowledge SVO Manufacturing Engineering Team ( Oxford Road Manufacturing Facility, Ryton, Coventry) 1x MPL (Material Planning & Logistics) Senior Engineer - Ideally educated to degree level in Manufacturing Systems or a similar engineering discipline - Creating and improving logistics processes within a manufacturing facility - Creating packaging design solutions for new model pallets & containers - Liaising with suppliers to agree logistic routes, packaging - Agreeing all aspects of above with manufacturing team, purchasing, programme & Health & Safety where appropriate - Avante process development and improvement of current delivery schedules and processes, including data management - Facilitating parts red meetings against Material Readiness dates - Liaising with Core MP&L as necessary - Taking the lead in MP&L elements, coordinating all necessary actions within the division working across functional areas such as programme, engineering, DHL, STA, finance, sales and marketing, as well as liaise with other JLR divisions and external suppliers.
