Interim Finance Manager - Royston, Herts.A fixed term opportunity for a Finance Manager has arisen to support the Senior Manager of Financial Control during the implementation of a new finance system, to include backfill of existing finance tasks and support on data cleanse and set up for the new system.

The contract is for an initial period of 4-6 months, although there is always the possibility of extension depending on the requirements of the business and associated project timelines.

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Month End

Review control accounts and ensure postings and recharges have been processedPrepare balance sheet reconciliations and review those prepared by the financial control teamPrepare and review sections of month end management accountsVAT

Have a good understanding of VAT including rates applicable for different products and services as well as country of supplyPrepare and submit VAT returns and payments for the UK Group and some small foreign subsidiariesReconcile VAT accounts and sales each quarter and at the year endTeam support

Providing ad hoc guidance to the financial control team in the absence of the Senior Manager including purchase ledger, sales ledger and banking queries.Support in ensuring work completed during team member absence, e.g. review payment runs in absence of Purchase ledger supervisorGeneral

Have a good understanding of the group structure and relationship between companiesHave a good understanding of exchange rates and exchange differencesSupport on ad hoc issues as requiredNew System

Support with the cleanse of supplier and customer master data ahead of data migrationSupport with the cleanse and set up of fixed asset data ahead of migrationSupport sales and purchase ledger teams progress on clean-up of invoice and payment data and supporting where required to ensure ready for migration

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified accountant or qualified by experienceExperience using finance systemsExperience in a finance team and monthly processesExcellent data accuracy and good attention to detailA full understanding of data being processed and the ability to identify and question anomaliesAdvanced Excel skillsBasic Word skillsKEY ATTRIBUTES
