Position Overview

You will be primarily responsible for the design, delivery and support of voice solutions, as well as core routing and switching services for our customers.

The Network Engineer is expected to act as a team member, liaising with colleagues on projects and being the primary engineer on point projects, providing technical project management and direction as assigned.

They will also be responsible for delivering and owning solutions for the business, to include different vendor products such as Cisco, F5 and Nimble etc. Delivering high-quality services to customers around the world will be crucial to the success of the role.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

·Design, Install, configure & troubleshoot Unified Communication solutions in new and existing networks.

·Participate in high-level project and design discussions with Solutions Architects.

·Provides peer review to other engineer designs.

·Provide network consulting and engineering services that assure a high degree of customer satisfaction

·Participates in networking and UC assessments.

·Act as the first point of contact for any technical escalations with regards to the Cisco Voice/Collaboration product suite.

·Support clients on issues and assessments of their Voice/Collaboration equipment.

·Provide support remotely and on-site.

·Flexibility to work out of hours and participate in an on-call Rota.

·Obtain and maintain vendor engineering certifications required for service delivery

Essential Education / Experience:

·2+ years’ experience with Cisco UC products, routers and switches.

·CCNA Collaboration or higher.

·Experience of working with CUCM, Jabber, CUC and Gateways.

·Experience of SIP, SCCP and H323.

·Experience of UCCX configuration and scripting desirable.

·Experience of general Routing and Switching technologies.

·Experience in any of the following Cisco Spark, Cisco Meeting Server and Contact Centre solutions would be advantageous.

·Any Data Centre, Security or Wireless experience would be beneficial.

·Any telecoms or call recording support experience would be beneficial.

·Understanding of telephony signaling protocols and networking fundamentals.

·An understanding of ITIL frameworks would be advantageous.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

·Excellent organisational skills with the ability to team with others to develop and implement complex voice and networking projects.

·Strong ability to work within a fast-paced and high pressured environment.

·Solid analytical skills to troubleshoot high-level, complex and technical problems.

·Position will be based within the Edinburgh office with travel to remote sites, potentially globally, for customer projects.

·Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.

·Ability to work a variety of projects with limited supervision.
