Parts Manager - Agricultural Machinery Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, PE7 2DU Salary: Negotiable, DOE Contract: Full Time, Permanent APH the long established combine harvester specialists are looking to recruit an experienced Parts Manager to join the team. The success of APH has been based upon an overriding commitment to consistent high standards of machinery and service support. Originally established to support the combine hire and sales activities, the specialised parts department now supplies directly to farmers and trade customers throughout UK and overseas. APH are now the UK's largest independent stockist of parts for New Holland and Claas combines. Parts Manager - The Role: This is a key position which will include the following main responsibilities: - Lead and manage the retail parts team including sales, purchasing, warehouse and distribution. - Manage and maintain parts stock levels within maximum levels to meet the requirements of our customers and for internal service and maintenance requirements. - Identify key suppliers and place seasonal out of season stock order and top up orders. - Lead the internal sales team including taking sales calls, answering queries, producing quotations, taking orders etc. - Ensure that quality levels of parts and service provided to customers is maintained and improved. - Assist in the preparation of departmental budgets and provide regular feedback to the management team on achievements and forecasts throughout the year. - Be a positive member of the senior management team providing helpful contributions on a regular basis and as may be required. Parts Manager - The Candidate: Skills and Qualifications required: - Minimum 5 years parts experience, preferably agricultural. - Skilled in using SAP or similar computer system as a tool to manage the parts business. - Ability to use MRP to manage stock and forecast requirements. - A good understanding and experience of using machinery parts books (mostly computerised). - Customer focussed with good communication skills. - Able to work extended hours and weekends on a rota basis during harvest season.
