Reporting to Strategy & Insights Director and having 3 Direct Reports (Managers) with a total team size of 7, this role involves heading up Pricing Centre of Excellence (Global) and managing Market Intelligence Team, which is responsible for providing global BI/MI solutions to the rest of the business. As Pricing COE head, this role entails leadership of Pricing & Excise Committee and provision of pricing insights to the business in order to drive top-line growth.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Pricing Centre of Excellence
  • Lead the PEC discussions and review of pricing proposals (across both divisions) with high degree of commercial impact
  • Independent recommendations to Deputy CFO / CEO for sign-off
  • Assessment of Pricing related risks and opportunities for Imperial, and pro-active management of pricing choices (also including competitive & market dynamics - example: assessing macro trends and pre-empting price wars, estimating key markets for price aggression / milking from competitive context etc.) through the year
  • Provision of Pricing Insights to drive Net Revenue (including Imperial's global portfolio context, as applicable)
  • Work collaboratively with Fiscal Affairs team to embed excise related insights and opportunities in the context of Pricing decisions
  • Drive single source of price elasticity insights across the Group (incl. oversight of conjoint studies)
  • War Gaming and Advanced Pricing Analytics - Capability Building through Subject Matter Expertise - Knowledge sharing across clusters

Market Intelligence

  • Drive BI/MI strategy to facilitate further automation and streamline information management
  • Provide outside-in view through adoption of best practices and advanced technology / methods (to be implemented by MI team)

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Pricing & Excise; Experience within Market/Cluster - strongly preferred
  • Prior team management experience - strongly preferred
  • Must possess excellent analytical and numeracy skills
  • Ability to analyse complicated information rapidly, identify risks and opportunities and explain complex issues simply.
  • Ability to challenge 'status-quo', as required
  • Strong interpersonal skills - with the ability to develop meaningful working relationships at all levels in the business
