Gaming Guides Content Creator
Do you know your Ganon from your GlaDos? Does your Aloy wear Shield-Weaver armour? Were there hundreds of Strange Coins in your vault before Gary burned them all? If you understand what we're talking about, passionate about games and excited to share your knowledge to help others, then we want you to join our team. Based in our Bath office and reporting to the Guides Producer, you'll be responsible for the creation of original tips and guides content, with the emphasis on game-playing and video capture, to complement our on-site offering. You'll instinctively know which part of a game is going to give people trouble, and know how to offer time-saving and ingenious solutions, using video to bring your tips and guides to life. You will assist with planning and capturing video footage from all the key releases on console and PC, as well as identifying our viewer's needs and converting those needs into unique and high quality video programming and editorial material. Passion and deep knowledge of all aspects of gaming (from point-and-click adventures to first person shooters) is a must, as is a desire to uncover all the secrets and hidden treasures a game may have to offer. You should be able to work alone and see an idea through from conception to completion and be able to meet all your deadlines. Love of games is essential, but experience of game capture, editing and writing will be a huge advantage; especially published work for a YouTube channel, Twitch channel, blog or publication. You should also be able to use industry-standard video editing software to create videos from the gameplay you've captured. If this sounds like you, we're waiting for you to get in touch!
Key role responsibilities:
Be responsible for creating a range of tips and guide content across all genres, with the emphasis on game-playing and video capture.
Work with the Guides Producer and other team members to ensure all content is delivered in a timely manner. Understand the different techniques needed to deliver video content across a wide variety of platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and on-demand services.
Be able to identify guide content and tips while playing a game for the first time.
Feel comfortable working in a small team.
Work with other members of the team and the Adobe suite to edit your game capture together into coherent content Be prepared to capture live gaming content on location and generate ideas based on the material you've gathered.
Make bullet pointed, easy-to-follow notes about the techniques you've used in the video.

Essential skills and experience:
Strong planning and organisational skills In-depth knowledge of a wide variety of games
Experience of playing a wide variety of games to completion
Experience of working within a team and comfortable contributing to all areas of production
Working knowledge and understanding of video formats on all major platforms
Personable, able to think on your feet and a confident communicator Preferred Requirements
The ability to edit video at a moderate level
Solid writing skills or experience of published work created for an audience
Understanding of Google search and keyword optimisation
Familiarity with social media and experience of attracting an audience
Previous experience of working in the games industry
