Demob Job Reference: J3210 Job Title: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Location: Ledbury, Herefordshire Salary: £Competitive Start Date: ASAP Introduction: My client is an established production facility based in Ledbury. They are now recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer at their site in Ledbury. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Controller the successful candidate will work as part of a team responsible for planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown tasks to production machinery and plant equipment, ensuring the smooth running of the facility. This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in HM Armed Forces i.e. British Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF) with strong electrical/mechanical maintenance skills ideally within a production/manufacturing environment. Responsibilities: - Ensure that production machinery and equipment is achieving maximum efficiency. - Conduct fault finding on plant downtime and equipment malfunctions, implementing suitable corrective actions/maintenance. - Undertake analysis of breakdowns on plant issues and component failures, implementing appropriate and timely corrective action. - Record all engineering activity on the Computerised Maintenance Management System. - Complete all preventative and predictive maintenance work orders as detailed in the asset maintenance schedules & departmental work load plan. - Recommend amendments to the asset maintenance schedules in light of inspection histories and operational experience. - Identification and completion of remedial work. - Develop and implement improvement plans for allocated equipment to increase efficiency and technical availability. - Responsible for the housekeeping of the Engineering Workshop and associated stores, documentation and tools. - Support the Engineering Stores, to include identification and ordering of required spares, obsolescence etc. - Train and coach operations staff to operate, problem solve and carry out basic autonomous maintenance using Standard Operating and Standard Maintenance Procedures. - Support the Operations team with the timely delivery of product changeovers. - Promote adherence to safety standards and a culture of safety awareness. - Issuing of permits as required. - Supporting the Engineering team with ad-hoc duties and projects. Applicant Requirements: Essential: - Recognised engineering apprenticeship to a minimum of ONC level or equivalent. - Ability to diagnose and repair faults on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. - Basic fault-finding skills on instrumentation and control systems. - Strong technical, analytical and communication skills. - High levels of self-motivation, drive & commitment. - Flexible and resilient. - Strong and effective communicator. - Structured and well organised. - IT literate. Desirable: - Experience within a FMCG environment, preferable food industry related. - Some knowledge TPM/Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques. - Experience with a range of pump types.
