Research & Advanced Engineering Engineer A Research & Advanced Engineering Engineer is required with experience of technical development for a position based in Bedfordshire Our client, a global automotive OEM based in Bedfordshire requires a Research & Advanced Engineering Engineer to: - Create detailed vehicle electrical architecture - Wiring diagram - Cable schedule creation - Cable sizing - Relay sizing and specification - Load balancing across components to optimise size - Fusing - Parts procurement (connectors, wiring, relay, etc.) - Package components into automotive suitable containers - Experience of HV system - Able to correctly apply diagnosis probes whilst maintaining HV safety - Familiarity with HV / LV isolation techniques - Familiarity with CAN test environment setup (CAPL, Canalyzer Pro, etc.) - Support/ advise packaging engineer with layout work - Able to understand operation of Balance of Plant BOP from gas balances - Understand side effects of high temperature environment in which SOFC operates - Familiar with fundamentals of turbomachinery (identifying surge) - Understanding of differences between mechanical shaft power and electrical motor power - Support work on current R&AE projects, managing supplier timing and purchases to ensure smooth running. - Provide regular reports to management of status on QCD The Research & Advanced Engineering Engineer should have the following skills: - Degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline desirable - Electrical Engineer and Project Management Experience - Fluent in English language written and spoken - German would also be advantageous Demand for this role will be undoubtedly be high so please apply today.
