This role will be located within the business area that supports Ford's main customer-facing websites, their customer databases and a myriad of other applications. This also includes the national web portals (such as **********), online vehicle configurators & product-launch microsites (such as ***************).

One of the applications in development to support the future state is CPMD (Central Product Marketing Data). Launching initially in Europe, Asia Pacific and North America in 2017/8, this service-based tool will be the single global application to drive vehicle configurators across the globe, whether they are online, in dealerships, on mobile apps or anywhere else. Given that over half of website visitors go on to configure a vehicle, this is a critical project.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior developer with great experience, especially in the Agile/Object Oriented field (Test Driven Development, SOLID, Continuous Integration). The successful candidate should be capable of working collaboratively as part of an Agile team and be able to provide technical guidance and leadership to other developers, in addition to recommending best approaches and patterns to implement project requirements based on their prior extensive experience - ideally in complex vehicle configurators or B2C Consumer Facing websites space.

Details of the Ford technology stack are listed below and candidates would be expected to have as much technical expertise in these areas as possible:

*Excellent knowledge of Java SE 6 (or higher) core.
*Experienced with Eclipse based IDE (Eclipse, RSA etc.)
*Experienced with Java persistence patterns; JPA ( EclipseLink, Caching), JCR,
*Expert in Web UI frameworks and technologies; HTML, XHTML, XML, XLST, CSS, AJAX, JSP, JavaScript, Bootstrap and AngularJS
*Experienced with Test Driven Development; mocking & JUnit
*Strong understanding of web application frameworks, such as Struts or Spring/MVC.
*Strong knowledge of Web-services Development (SOAP/REST) - JAX-WS, JAX-B, JAX-RS
*Familiarity with Sling and OSGi
*Familiarity with Agile Methodology
*Familiarity with Web application security patterns
*In depth knowledge of Java Application Servers (WebSphere, JBoss, WebLogic etc.)
*Familiarity with build scripting languages; Gradle, Maven, ANT etc.
*Knowledgeable with Modern Java Design Patterns and Anti-Patterns
*Experience of relational databases, SQL and/or no SQL database patterns
*Experience with MS Windows and Unix/Linux/Solaris operating systems
*Experienced with continuous integration/ deployment practices and tools (GIT, SVN, Accurev, Jenkins, uBuild etc.)

Personal Profile:
*Minimum 2:2 University degree
*Evidence of effective communication within development teams (developers/BAs/Architects/ Product Owners etc.).
*Evidence of high motivation and ability to operate with limited supervision to deliver high quality results in pressured situations and under tight timings
*Knowledge of Agile practices, ideally at large scale (multiple teams, global development)
*Ability to work alone, leading small teams, or liaising with other teams, delivering software to rapid fixed deadlines
*You will be a self-starter with an ability to understand user requirements (typically User-Stories), and a track record demonstrating strong analytical, problem-solving skills and providing feedback to others on their software.
*Experience of working as part of a global application development team, ideally in a multi-language, large-scale environment
