We have a superb opportunity for a Mortgage Underwriter to join an exciting new lender based in Staines. Our client is a specialist intermediary mortgage lender. The role of Mortgage Underwriter will be responsible for assessing individual cases. All decisions ned to be made within regulatory standards. A key aspect of the role will be to assist in the design and implementation of the customer and intermediary journey, ensuring that TCF outcomes are clearly visible and practiced. The role holder will have regular contact with intermediaries and will be expected to deliver a first-class service to the intermediary market Responsibilities for the Mortgage Underwriter - Ensure proper records are maintained throughout all stages of the mortgage application process - Approve mortgage applications within specified limits in accordance with the lending policy - Consider mortgage applications outside of standard lending policy where justified - Assist with mortgage product design - Provide guidance for mortgage brokers/advisors - Work with other members of the team to provide MI for the Director of Operations, COO, CEO and the board and external bodies Experience required for the role of Mortgage Underwriter - Extensive and current residential, buy to let manual mandated underwriting experience is essential - Must hold a recent mandate for ideally £500,000 however will consider a mandate of £250,000 - Prior experience of working for a start-up would be highly desirable but not essential - Good understanding of responsible lending, Treating customers fairly and other FCA operational principles Salary: Competitive basic offered based on experience plus benefits Location: Staines, Surrey For more information regarding the role of Mortgage Underwriter please contact us on ************* Stellar Select is acting as an employment agency and is a corporate member of the REC Due to a high volume of applications, we will only contact you if your application has been successful.
