Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Embedded Software Engineer to be based at our customer's office in Peterborough. Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery. The Role: Project Engineer for the development of complex automotive \ adjacent market embedded sub-systems or features. Required to provide development capability contribute to the software development and adoption of current automotive technologies such as AUTOSAR. Use your relevant experience to assist in developing method and process to address an increasing focus on functional safety. Area of Responsibility - Develop and verify specific control system features at either application or infrastructure level using your expertise in the C programming language - Integration of developed software with other features developed "by hand" or autocoded. - Produce work products in accordance to defined standards and guidelines. Knowledge / Experience - You will need substantive experience and knowledge in the area of embedded system development, preferably with professional experience of developing within - Traditional "hand coded" development within safety related applications - Model based auto coded development within safety related applications - Hybrid development (combination of above) - You will have experience using configuration control systems (GIT, Clearcase etc.) - You will have professional experience working within a well defined process developing safety related systems and understand the primary disciplines required to deliver well defined, low defect software. - You will have exposure to one or more of the following domains - diesel engine control systems, - off-highway machine controls - marine control systems - military vehicle control systems - other safety related automotive controls systems - Demonstrable professional experience with some or all of the following - C programming language - Static analysis methods and tools (e.g. QAC, LINT) - Configuration tools (GIT, clearcase) - Complex build environments, - Mathworks tools (Matlab, Simulink, RealTime Workshop) - AUTOSAR and associated Vector toolset (DaVinci) - Experience working with a range of communication systems (CAN, Ethernet, Lin, Flexray). - Knowledge of On board - Off Board Diagnostics and associated protocols (J1939, UDS etc.) - Awareness of traditional and contemporary development processes (waterfall, v-model, agile) would be valuable.
