Position: EDS Engineering Team Leader Location: Warwickshire Term: Permanent Remuneration: £Negotiable Basic Salary & Full Company Benefits Our Client, a global major Tier 1 Automotive company specialising in the supply of high technology electronic components seek an experienced EDS Engineering Team Leader to join their ever expanding team in the West Midlands. The role is to be recruited with immediate effect. Reporting to the Engineering Programme Manager, your role as Engineering Team Leader will be to manage the EDS (Electrical Distribution System) Project Teams which develop, from concept to Production, Electrical Distribution Systems both on-site at the customer and in company Design Centres and Manufacturing Facilities. In summary, your responsibilities will be as follows: Management -Lead a team of multi-disciplined Engineers. -Management of off-shore Engineering Team. Design -DVP is delivered using Central Engineering Team. -Complexity is delivered using the Central Engineering Team. -Design of circuits and schematics -Design of EDS architecture. -Participate in cost justification. -Manage concept design studies utilizing CAE tools and physical bucks. -Support Program Manager on APQP activities where required. Timing -Meeting Programme timing from the Customer and company Manufacturing Facilities. -Manage customer Program Design Change activities. -Release activities (WERS) Manufacturing -Support on-site evaluation of product at vehicle assembly plants. -Support DFM and DFA. -Support Builds at the Customer Premises. Qualifications and Experience ideally required includes; -Ideally educated to Degree standard (ideally in Electro-Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent or possesses certain relevant engineering qualifications with good relevant experience. -Should have 5 years or more EDS/Harness Engineering experience. -Will need knowledge of wiring harness, plastic and metal component production processes, -Tooling knowledge. -Should understand Electrical schematics, wiring harness and 3D CAD. -Should ideally have a working knowledge of FPDS/GPDS, DVP, FMEA and APQP. -Will be conversant with quality systems such as Q1, QS9000 and TS16949. -Should have a good understanding of the vehicle assembly process, especially EDS related aspects. -Good decision maker with excellent communication skills. -Supervisory experience would be a bonus. -Fluency in English needed. Any expertise in speaking/writing other European languages and/or Japanese would be a bonus, but this is not essential. Is this you?
