Altran is recruiting an Aero-thermal Engineer to work in Bristol, with a mixture of working on-site at our prestigious client's premises and our own offices in the city. Your role As an Aero-thermal Engineer with Altran, you will be fundamental to our ability to deliver to our customers and clients. Our customer expectations are high, as such we are looking for adaptive driven people to deliver on time to required quality. Tasks and Responsibilities: - Perform aerodynamics and aero-thermal modelling and simulation tasks as part of various projects carried out from either on-site (customer-facing) or off-site (Altran offices) - Present and report progress and results, externally and internally - Maintain direct working relationships with clients and represent both your work and possibly the work of team members during client meetings - Aero-thermal - analysis tasks from 1D to 3D CFD models - Manipulate 3D geometry using CAD tools - Develop, validate and run full 3D CFD models, using various methods and tools (commercial or customer-specific) - Perform post-processing and generate appropriate outputs - Analyse results and extract main conclusions and assumptions - Produce technical slide packs and reports Your profile You will possess creative problem-solving skills in a team environment and comfortable with communicating clearly and efficiently throughout varying levels of both the customer and Altran businesses. Due to the nature of the assignments undertaken by Altran you will work in an environment that promotes autonomy and initiative, requiring a flexible attitude. Above all, you will have a desire to progress. Qualification and Education: - Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline, ideally fluid dynamics/heat transfers/propulsion systems - Ideally chartered engineer (or working towards chartership) Skills and Requirements: - Understanding/knowledge of physics relating to fluid dynamics, heat transfers - Familiarity with gas turbine technologies - Familiarity with aerofoil properties and aircraft aero-design - Experience with CFD toolsets, Fluent and CFX in particular - Experience with engineering documentation - Good communication skills in client-facing situations - Ability to adapt to new projects and environments In addition to the culture and career development opportunities at Altran, we offer a matched pension scheme, healthcare and generous holiday allowance.
