DevOps Engineer Surbiton Ref: TUIHO02000 Business Area: IT Join an existing team as a DevOps Engineer. Your knowledge and skill sets will help develop and implement both DevOps strategies and Continuous Delivery pipelines for a world leader in package holidays. You will have the opportunity to work with global IT teams across Europe. Your experience in working in a large organisation will enable you to be accountable for defining the appropriate infrastructure, tools and processes to support business change. An ideal role for somebody looking to be a key player in maturing our organisation in Continuous Delivery and help implement the processes to ensure high availability and quality. What You Will Be Doing The IT Engineering team at TUI supports our operational business units across diverse functions like Commercial, Retail, eCommerce, Airline, Call Centres, Analytics and Mobile across several office locations and is accountable for all solution delivery in these areas. As AWS is our strategic Cloud Platform, you will be expected to have an in-depth knowledge of most of the AWS Services. Ideally being AWS Certified or being able to demonstrate this knowledge. As a DevOps engineer, you will work with Service Delivery teams to ensure there is a consistent approach to deployment, and high availability is maintained. You will remove opportunities for human error and implement highly repeatable deployment methods. Working with and part of multiple DevOps teams to implement the Continuous Delivery strategy, implement the required controls and to support Continuous Integration, Test Automation and Continuous Deployment across IT Engineering. You will have an opportunity to bring your experience and knowledge and influence teams on DevOps principles and tooling. What We Are Looking For Technical Skills *Experience managing production AWS systems (including Auto-scaling and Load Balancing). *Experience of Monitoring and Logging (preferably using Datadog and Splunk). *Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration. *Experience with automation/configuration management tooling preferably Ansible. *A scripting language such as (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby). *Experience of Jira and Confluence. *Experience using Terraform to manage AWS resources. Additional Preferences *AWS Certified. *Experience managing high availability e-commerce platforms. *Understanding of securing cloud solutions. *Strong influencing, engagement and leadership skills. *Proven service attitude to understand what is wanted by the lines of business and what IT can deliver. *Champion of process adherence and continuous process improvement. *Able to communicate effectively with superiors, peers and technical development staff.
