This is the way to guarantee our continued success into the future' - CEO Dr Peter Bonfield OBE FREng About the Division: The Fire Detection team within BRE is a leading provider for the testing and approvals of fire detection products under the internationally recognised LPCB brand, ensuring that end users can trust the performance of the products they purchase. Our testing covers control panels, a wide range of detectors and associated components, and alarm transmission systems. BRE has extensive world class facilities for the testing of fire detection products to European and international standards. Due to rapidly growing demand for our test and approvals service we have an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join our successful and expanding Fire Detection business. Job Description: The main responsibilities of this role are: -Project management of the product approvals process, -Conducting detailed technical evaluations from initial enquiry to final project sign off including -Compiling and verifying test programmes and technical approval files, reviewing client technical product documentation -Ensuring compliance with the LPCB schemes, Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and Marine Equipment Directive (MED) -Account manager for a group of clients, ensuring all clients are kept up to date on project progress -Scoping new projects and preparing quotations -Liaison with internal departments, customers, approval agencies and accreditation bodies -Participation in policy reviews, efficiency improvements and driving implementation of the changes. Person Specifications: The successful candidate should have the following essential skills and knowledge: -Must have in-depth knowledge of the Fire Detection industry -Must have extensive knowledge of the EN54 Fire Detection standards and test methodologies -A relevant electronic qualification or equivalent -Experience of product testing or evaluation work -The ability to build and maintain good customer relations -Analytical ability, clarity of thought and attention to detail -Excellent organisational, written and oral communication skills -Be fully conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and databases. -Experience of project management Other desirable skills, knowledge and experience might include: - A good understanding of the certification/approvals process - Experience of certification or quality management processes -Experience of project management
