Description Reporting to Principal Automation Realisation Manager, the Engineering Task Force Manager's responsibilities will include: - Direct line management and leadership responsibility of Task Force Stream Leaders. - Steerage and prioritisation of work within the streams. - Resource prioritisation and deployment from internal and external sources. - Prioritisation of software and hardware development in line with service/cost impact of issues. - Accountability of cost of Task Force streams. - Responsibility for overall tracking, trending and reporting of failure modes within the Rainbow system. Responsibility and leadership of direct stream for 'Living with imperfections' - how we manage around existing issues while root-causes are investigated. This can include: - Improved recovery methods. - Detailed exception handling within the Rainbow system. - Improved support processes. Reporting of progress to senior management teams, including: - Weekly presentations and update sessions to senior management. - Weekly written reports published across the business. - Ongoing required conference calls. Key requirements: - Ability to lead team of managers from varying backgrounds and knowledge bases. Ability to lead remote teams and ensure effective communication and collaboration. - Ability to understand system complexities to ensure the correct resource and development areas are allocated accordingly. - Ability to manage progress and delivery of fixes against timelines and overall cost benefits (time/performance/money). - Ability to prioritise development work and fixes against other priorities across the required teams. - Ability to clearly present findings and progress in a concise yet detailed manner. - Ability to apply the right mix of urgency pressure with good process and understanding of business impact. - Role is predominantly site based (currently Andover) but with requirement to be with the key dev teams as required if necessary in our various head office sites. - Experienced manager and leader. - Experience of managing technical projects. - Experience in root-cause analysis processes and methodology.
