Our client is currently recruiting for an International Tax Manager on a permanent basis in Aberdeen. Purpose of Job: The role will be responsible for supporting the Senior Group Tax Manager with the day to day reporting and management of taxes for Group companies. This includes support across the international business, including working with the internal stakeholders and ensuring global taxation compliance across the Group. Supervises: Liaises/works with Regional Controller and Finance Managers re tax issues Key Tasks: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The role will be responsible for supporting the Senior Group Tax Manager with the day to day reporting and management of taxes for the client. This will include support across the international business, including working with the internal stakeholders and ensuring global taxation compliance across the Group. TAXATION PLANNING: Drive continuous and sustainable optimisation of the Groups structure, financing and commercial activities with the aim of reducing the Groups tax charge and cash tax costs across any and all taxes in the territories in which the Group operates. Tax planning across all direct and indirect taxes, including structural and financing efficiency. Maximisation of tax attributes and post cash tax results. Identify, develop and lead implementation of low risk, robust and transparent opportunities. TRANSFER PRICING: Monitoring of transfer pricing policies and ensuring adequate documentation in place to support transfer pricing in local jurisdictions. Support Country by Country Reporting requirements. COMMERCIAL SUPPORT: Support commercial and operational functions to deliver tax efficiency. Develop and embed deep internal and external commercial and professional firm networks. Be highly responsive to commercial drivers and demands. Enhance Group competitiveness and improve client satisfaction. Build transparent and robust client and vendor contractual relationships. Reduce operational tax costs / maximise post cash tax results. COMPLIANCE ASSURANCE: Ensure that the product of all planning/commercial support is appropriately reflected in the relevant Group company accounts and tax filings. Leadership, guidance, training and support provided to Finance staff to ensure timely and accurate tax compliance and year-end tax accounting across all taxes. Supporting Group Tax authority audit activity and risk remediation initiatives. Liaise with Finance Administration Managers and external advisers regarding preparation and filing of Norwegian, Singaporean, Cypriot and related branch corporate tax returns. GROUP TAX POLICIES: Shared responsibility for implementation of Group Tax Policies including transfer pricing and financing policies and strategy. Primary Responsibilities: The role will be responsible for supporting the Senior Group Tax Manager with the day to day reporting and management of taxes for the client. This will include support across the international business, including working with the internal stakeholders and ensuring global taxation compliance across the Group. Financial: Able to operate as a business partner understanding the Group environment & overseas finance teams. Business Development: Ability to grasp taxation concepts and provide process improvements. Deadline conscious with strong drive and initiative and ability to work well in time sensitive situations. Commercial acumen underpinning ability to understand business driven opportunities quickly. Departmental Development: The position requires a team player demonstrating maximum flexibility, an ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and remain calm under pressure. Systems and Processes: Windows environment including Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with SAP. People: Challenge current processes to promote continuous improvement and efficiency. Develop effective internal relationships with finance staff across the client and other key stakeholders. Develop effective external relationships with other business units, external advisors and Tax authorities. Good interpersonal skills with an ability to tailor their approach to deal appropriately with all levels of contact. An assertive and self-confident person. Clear and confident communicator with a mature delivery. Quality: Carry out the work in accordance to all relevant Group Policies and where applicable client procedures.
