Our client an established and growing consumer electronics company require a team of experienced Software Developers, to work as part of an highly skilled Agile/Scrum team, you would be responsible for developing software in C#/.NET for real-time, multi-process cross-platform applications for the Digital TV and professional video industry. You must have the ability to understand and communicate complex issues clearly as well as having working knowledge of modern development tools and infrastructure. In this exciting and rewarding position, you will have huge exposure to clients and other partners around the globe. Some work will require travel to customer's site in the East Midlands, mainly in the first few months of the project. Specific Skills and Qualities: A software developer with considerable experience working as part of a team to develop and deliver software to an internal or external customer In depth knowledge of C#/.NET and object oriented programming Must to able to communicate clearly in English (both verbally and in writing) with both customers and colleagues Strong understanding of multi-threading/multi-process software concepts and concurrency issues Exceptional problem solving and debugging skills, with experience of a variety of debugging tools and techniques Must have a "can-do" attitude and approach with the confidence to undertake tasks that are outside of your immediate experience, enabling you to grow your skill set Experience - Essential A minimum of three years' experience in a software development role Strong object orientated development in C# 6.0 and .NET 4.6 Framework using Visual Studio Real-time/multi-process/multi-threaded applications Debugging with a variety of debugging tools Unit testing and awareness of test methodologies Experience - Highly Desirable Databases: T-SQL, performance analysis and stored procedures using Microsoft SQL Server User interface implementation using WPF, WinForms or Silverlight Service orientated implementation using REST Web Services, WCF or Remoting Workflow implementation using Windows Workflow Foundation XML with a good understanding of XSD, XSLT and XPath Windows and Linux inter-process communication Integration with third party libraries Writing cross-platform libraries Broadcast/Playout automation systems Software development tools (distributed revision control, debuggers, profilers, code coverage tools etc.) Experience - Also Beneficial Video codecs and wrappers, specifically MPEG and MXF Web technologies (HTML5, JavaScript, RESTful web services) Graphics formats / files Computer networking Shell scripting Continuous Integration using MSBuild & Jenkins
