Senior Engineer - Pipelines Based at Bacton We're looking for someone to undertake the role of senior engineer on a £30m civil & mechanical engineering project at our site in Bacton, Norfolk. It's a broad role that will see you at the heart of the construction efforts, mentoring people, and acting as the Murphy ambassador on site. Key elements include: - Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHESQ department - Ensuring that the standards and quality with regards to all site engineering activities are being achieved - Closely monitoring and mentoring junior engineers on site and ensuring that they have a solid understanding of their role and how to fulfil it correctly - Setting out, surveying, survey control and quality checking of site engineering works - Liaise with the team to ensure a suitable process is in place to ensure the setting out information being used is the latest available - Close liaison on a daily basis with the Site Foreman, Works Managers, Specific Crews and Management for the required work plan - Setting out of the construction works - Proving surveys of the completed works - Proving the existing Site Control, or establishing Site Control where required - Preparation of the setting out detail, and uploading / downing to instruments and computers - Responsibility for processing and drawing of setting out and as-built surveys - Responsible for the testing and calibration of the site survey equipment What we'll expect you to demonstrate: - Construction experience in a recognised professional environment - Experience working in a high pressure gas facility - Knowledge of the preparation of Risk Assessment & Method Statements - Strong leadership and mentoring skills - Experience in the construction of pipelines (oil, gas or water) and large civil and mechanical facilities - Setting out and surveying skills in GPS, EDM, Dumpy and laser levels - Working knowledge of laser scanning & processing and UAV's for photogrammetric surveys - Flexibility to work on multiple projects throughout the UK - Experience working for National Grid - Computer literate in Microsoft Excel and a good understanding of AutoCad (or similar) - Clear understanding of the requirements of the setting out
