We are small enough for an individual to make a mark; large enough to develop a challenging career. About the role This is a fixed term position for approx. 12 months. As a Team Leader within our Underwriting department, you will manage a small team of 4 Underwriters; supporting them with their day to day responsibilities, allocating work and ensuring performance is at its best. The team work within SLAs and KPI's, therefore you will review these measures and ensure that the team is delivering within expectations. Succession planning is very important to us, therefore you will be a leader who can identify skill / knowledge gaps and ensure that the team is trained and given the opportunity to develop. As a senior member of the underwriting team, you will act as the point of contact for any underwriting escalation queries and ensure risk is mitigated by reviewing quality checks and management reports on a daily basis. What we're looking for You will be an experienced team leader within the financial services, ideally with underwriting knowledge and an awareness of the consumer credit act and other relevant legislation. The ability to coach and mentor others, in addition to managing workload and performance is essential. Strong communication skills is also highly important, with the ability to build relationships quickly with stakeholders across the business. This is a Monday - Friday role, however due to the nature of this role some flexibility regarding hours of work may be required. What's on offer for you?
