The four pillars of this global operating model are: - Aviva Finance Markets (AFM): a commercial team who will be a co-pilot to the market CEOs and business leadership teams. - Aviva Finance Operations (AFO): a highly effective and agile team managing resources and providing excellent services to the rest of our function. - Aviva Finance Technical (AFT): a team of Finance experts who will leverage our global technical expertise in areas like investments, tax, hedging, re-insurance and actuarial advisory to provide "solutions" which are consistent across Finance. - Aviva Finance Corporate (AFC): an insight-oriented team who will own headquarter functions such as Investor Relations, Capital Allocation, Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Mergers & Acquisitions The Team This role is part of the Aviva Finance Operations (AFO) team: a highly effective and agile team managing resources and providing service excellence to the rest of Aviva's Finance function. This team, under the leadership of our global process owners, will be responsible for our core global Finance operational and reporting production processes. The AFO Financial Reporting team generates the IFRS financial statements and notes, Solvency II QRTs and narrative reports. In addition, it runs the Group consolidation process and produces analysis reports. The Person Responsibility for the delivery of relevant statutory accounts, management accounts (as required), Group IFRS and regulatory submissions in connection with AGC entities. Including organisation & management of offshore resource, and management of all internal & external stakeholders. Duties & Responsibilities Support the senior managers in: - Manage the Group actuarial reporting team who provide review and challenge of business unit financial results & disclosures (IFRS & SII) to ensure understanding of the Group result and to ensure consistency of approach across the Group where necessary. - Ensure all actuarial elements of the Group's external publications (including regulatory submissions) are produced on time, are robust, are understood and are clearly & concisely explained internally and externally. - To provide leadership to the team members who are themselves the point of first contact between business unit finance teams and the AFO actuarial reporting team, supporting the business unit on submission of deliverables to AFO, covering both process and content as necessary. - Manage deliverables relating to Group actuarial reporting to Chief Accounting Officer team, via the Group Actuarial Reporting Director, and ensure any issues arising are resolved. Skills & Experience required Qualifications: - Degree level or equivalent. - Qualified Actuary (Life or GI actuary dependent upon role) PQE, with strong actuarial reporting capabilities and strong knowledge in both IFRS and Solvency II, with good working knowledge across all bases. - IAS19 knowledge an advantage. Skills/Knowledge: - Ability to identify and mitigate issues or risks and know when to escalate. - Ability to identify problems and resolve these or escalate as appropriate. - Strong financial or regulatory reporting experience. - Strong financial/regulatory reporting and accounting skills. Experience: - Strong team management and development skills. - Strong knowledge of insurance products. - Strong reporting systems and Excel skills. - Strong project / process management skills (design, implement and improve). - Strong attention to detail / controls focus. - Stakeholder management and cultural awareness skills. - Analytical and problem solving skills covering technical, process and interpersonal issues. - Strong communication (verbal & written) skills. - Strong team working skills and interpersonal skills. - Highly proactive and willing & able to operate successfully in a fluid resource environment.
