Senior Credit Risk Strategy Analyst- Collections & Recoveries
The Role The position of Senior Collections & Recoveries Strategy Analyst forms part of the Credit Risk Strategy & Enterprise Analytics Department reporting into the Collections & Recoveries Strategy Manager. The role holder will be responsible for the development, tracking and re-forecasting to achieve financial objectives with specific focus on strategy design and analysis as it relates to collections and recoveries risk strategies and insights. The role holder will work closely with Operations and Strategic Operations on risk criteria for different account segments within delinquency and Finance/Loss Forecasting to ensure all strategy changes are included in the Finance cycle. The role-holder will partner closely with Strategy Execution, Scoring & Modelling and Portfolio Insight to assist in the delivery of robust strategies and best in class strategy reporting and analytics. Key Responsibilities *Development of measurable strategies for Collections and Recoveries which optimise the risk and reward performance through understanding of customer behaviours and impacts to key P&L lines. *Assist with the delivery of collections and recoveries strategy guardrail performance for our delinquent and charged off populations. *Analysing the relative success of the strategy suite and deliver strategy insight, recommending corrective actions as necessary. *Assist with management and improvement of control environment. Proactively raise self assessment issues and executing self-assessment of strategy programs to ensure they are delivering expected actions. *Proactively seek opportunities and assume responsibility for prioritisation of own workload. *Test, learn and rapid cycle re-forecasting of strategy financial performance. *Partner as required with CRS&EA's internal stakeholders to deliver effective analytical environment that supports comprehensive strategy performance tracking and P&L re-forecasting. *Partner with key stakeholders from across the business as required to develop and execute co-ordinated, robust, compliant and coherent treatment strategies. *Be an authority on Collections & Recoveries Strategies and develop understanding of local regulation / guidelines. Skills & Experience - Experience in a collections & recoveries specific strategy role with detailed knowledge of credit card collections practices preferably with a leading bank or similar monoline provider. Commercial Understanding of Product - Understand the product P&L and risk reward dynamics of the portfolio - Understand main KPI's and how to influence them - Able to identify and propose innovative strategies to drive business benefit - Other analytical skills, including statistical test design - Product and Market knowledge* - Business acumen around business model and strategy - Product knowledge including understanding of key drivers of credit risk and financial returns Stakeholder Management - Effectively collaborates within own team and across other business areas - Coaching and mentoring of Band 6 analysts - Strong presentation and communication skills Credit Risk Strategy Management - Analytical and strong problem solving skills. - Able to identify business trends and make new or existing account strategy recommendations that improve outcomes. - Proactive in the ongoing assessment and management of strategy actions to deliver the credit risk appetite. - Understanding of the drivers of asset quality. - Financial acumen with strategy level understanding of the behavioural drivers of risk and reward. - Working knowledge of credit scoring and modelling techniques and proficiency in use of statistical packages such as SAS enterprise miner, Angoss knowledge seeker etc. - Able to build basic financial models to assist Finance with P&L impacts of strategies - Familiar with both in market and U.S regulatory requirements.
