As a Safety Engineering Consultant with Altran, you will be fundamental to our ability to deliver to our customers and clients. You will possess creative problem-solving skills in a team environment and comfortable with communicating clearly and efficiently throughout varying levels of both the customer and Altran businesses. Due to the nature of the assignments undertaken by Altran you will work in an environment that promotes autonomy and initiative, requiring a flexible attitude. Responsibilities: - We specialise in system safety and our Expertise Centre is composed of consultants and experts in various engineering and scientific disciplines providing technical support on cutting edge projects for commercial, defence, energy and renewables customers worldwide - Based in our Glasgow office and reporting to the Regional manager, the role may require frequent and/or extended periods of travel to a customer's or industry partner's site and may require visits or secondments to our other UK or global offices - The job requires an understanding of consultant and customer relationships together with an appreciation of planning, timescales and delivery - As part of a knowledgeable and growing team, the successful candidate will be expected to listen, learn and contribute to ideas and problem solving initiatives - The successful candidate will be self-motivated and will be fully supportive of the team's objectives and requirements - May be expected to participate in business development activities - A relevant Professional Institution membership and Continuous Professional Development will be supported and encouraged Essential Minimum Requirements: - University degree qualified engineer (any discipline) - Post graduate experience in an industrial engineering discipline - UK Govt. Security Cleared, or willing to, up to DV level, if required - A full UK vehicle Driving Licence - Competent oral and written communication skills in the English language - Flexible and willing to travel on Company business - Computer literate - Willing to work on defence and nuclear projects Desirable Requirements: - MSc qualified in Safety Engineering or equivalent - Demonstrable post graduate experience in an industrial engineering discipline - A focus on Safety in high risk industries - Competent in standard MS Office software use - Demonstrable capability in modern safety analysis techniques such as Fault Trees, Event Trees and FME(C)A toolsets - Second Language - Professional Institution Membership and a Chartered Engineer or Working towards Chartered Engineer status In addition to the culture and career development opportunities at Altran, we offer a matched pension scheme, healthcare and generous holiday allowance.
