The four pillars of this global operating model are: - Aviva Finance Markets (AFM): a commercial team who will be a co-pilot to the market CEOs and business leadership teams. - Aviva Finance Operations (AFO): a highly effective and agile team managing resources and providing excellent services to the rest of our function. - Aviva Finance Technical (AFT): a team of Finance experts who will leverage our global technical expertise in areas like investments, tax, hedging, re-insurance and actuarial advisory to provide "solutions" which are consistent across Finance. - Aviva Finance Corporate (AFC): an insight-oriented team who will own headquarter functions such as Investor Relations, Capital Allocation, Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Mergers & Acquisitions The Team This role is part of the Aviva Finance Operations (AFO) team: a highly effective and agile team managing resources and providing service excellence to the rest of Aviva's Finance function. This team, under the leadership of our global process owners, will be responsible for our core global Finance operational and reporting production processes. The AFO Financial Reporting team generates the IFRS financial statements and notes, Solvency II QRTs and narrative reports. In addition, it runs the Group consolidation process and produces analysis reports. The financial accounting for AGC legal entities - including reporting to legal entity boards, delivery of board MI and statutory accounts, and support to related governance forums such as the Aviva Group Centre Legal Entity Oversight Committee. The Person We're looking for a qualified accountant with demonstrable post-qualified experience, ideally gained within a large insurance company environment. You will have a strong mix of relationship management and technical accounting skills (across both IFRS and Solvency II), and a good understanding of both life and non-life insurance products and markets. You will be able to understand and interpret large amounts of data and narrative, and summarise it into succinct, meaningful and insightful commentary. You will have a proven record of delivering to time and quality, and experience of pro-active stakeholder management across a range of disciplines and seniority levels. This is hugely varied role, and while you will need to be comfortable with dealing with a broad spectrum of responsibilities and tasks, it will provide the successful candidate with a diverse range of development opportunities and a strong position to progress their career within Aviva. Duties & Responsibilities Support the senior managers in: - Consolidation of the Group financial data. - Generation of financial statements and corresponding notes. - Generation of quarterly and annual QRTS. - Feed into the generation of the SII narrative reports. - Production of financial reporting data and analysis for the Group and generation of the financial statements, QRTS and SII narrative reports. - Delivery of financial statements, narrative reports and analysis to AFC within agreed timelines. - Submission of QRTs to regulators on a timely basis. - No or little queries from AFC, senior management, regulators or auditors. - Responsibility for the delivery of relevant statutory accounts. - Management accounts (as required). - Group IFRS and regulatory submissions in connection with AGC entities. - Organisation & management of offshore resource, and management of all internal & external stakeholders. Skills & Experience required Qualifications: - Degree level or equivalent. - Qualified Accountant. Skills/Knowledge: - Good financial/regulatory reporting and accounting skills. - Attention to detail. - Analytical review skills. - Good communication skills - Ability to communicate across all levels and across different geographies. - Ability to work independently and on their own initiative and know when to escalate. - Ability to identify problems and help resolve these or escalate as appropriate. Experience: - Good project / process management skills (design / implement / improve). - Cultural and political awareness and ability to deal with people from different backgrounds. - Strong knowledge of Excel and Magnitude, coupled with strong analysis and problem solving skills. - Good financial/regulatory reporting and accounting skills.
