Job Title: Data Centre Services Manager Req ID: 99356BR Location(s): Harlow or Glenrothes Function: Information Technology Summary of Role Raytheon UK has an opportunity for an experienced Data Centre Services Manager to lead the core IT infrastructure organisation within the UK Information Technology function. The function is responsible for the design, management, maintenance and upkeep of the core Data Centres in 2 main locations in the UK. The Data Centre Services Manager is primarily responsible for managing the core data centres and IT infrastructure as well as the development and execution of the associated operational plans through effective day to day leadership of the Data Centre Services function. This highly influential role is critical to the core infrastructure service layer, requiring a highly proactive individual who is able to manage complexity, drive technology roadmaps and upgrades and maintain effective day to day service delivery, assuring Raytheon's ability to deliver both internal and external services. Main Duties * Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Raytheon UK IT Data Centres and infrastructure. * Leads the core IT Infrastructure team to deliver a reliable, secure, and cost-efficient IT infrastructure across all supported systems. * Develops, implements, and owns associated functional goals, objectives, and key service level agreements (SLAs). * Monitors the Data Centre infrastructure, to ensure responsiveness and availability is maintained in accordance with SLAs. . Leads and develops an IT Infrastructure team of specialists. * Directs the planning, coordination, implementation and execution of approved policies, programs and services related to Data Centre services. * Oversees operational Data Centre projects and activities to ensure they are delivered to meet requirements. * Assists with infrastructure devices hardening guidelines, policies, configuration standards and best practices for RUK core infrastructure. Reviews policy and procedure and ensure all IT systems and services remain in compliance with policies and guidelines. * Develops long term vision of Raytheon UK IT Date Centre technologies and solutions. * Ensures incident, problem and change management processes and communications are strictly adhered to by Data Centre Infrastructure staff. * Oversees upgrades for Data Centre hardware, O/S, components and environmental services. * Communicates with senior managers to advise, influence and determine strategic business needs. * Ensure daily system checks & representation at the daily IT Service status meeting * Lead the acquisition, implementation and upgrades of software, hardware resource planning, storage and specification planning, administration & user documentation generation and peer review. * Maintain system documentation, support procedures and rota/cover arrangements with actively managed preventative upgrade cycles. * Ensure backup schedules, data retention and period maintenance are aligned to corporate policies and business requirements. * Deliver cross functional improvement projects were applicable utilising the Raytheon 6 Sigma methodology. * Develop and maintain a Service Strategy for your service area, and support the development, implementation and rationalisation of the RSL services portfolio, ensuring appropriate lifecycle management of each service managed. * Perform the necessary engagement, costing, planning and delivery of new solutions, then effectively maintain these through maintenance and upgrade planning. Define and maintain annual plans and 5 year technology roadmap to drive effective service development in line with strategy and aims. * Maintain effective internal customer alignment through a strong understanding of your customers and their strategies, environments and support requirements and match the service delivery and development accordingly. * Attend internal operations reviews, customer engagement, and service improvement meetings. * Create a Service Improvement Plan for your service area and ensure this is clearly understood and communicated to peers and customers through regular Service Review meetings and events. * Support the RUK financial annual cycle through setting then meeting or exceeding financial objectives through improved cost management, team utilisation, and customer billable work opportunities. * Maintain a Service Catalogue and Configuration Management Database for your service. * Ensure team manages incidents, problems and changes to the service efficiently and effectively following the agreed and documented processes. * Ensure the provision of an Out of hours / On Call Cover service aligned to the rest of IT. In some cases 24x7 service cover by your service may be required. * Effectively manage operational supplier performance and repairs & maintenance contracts, including software licencing compliance, software licence & support contract agreements and renewals, supplier selection and due diligence, and maintenance of up-to-date NDA's. * Identify, engage and ensure third-party support and delivery resources to supplement the team effectively during high peaks of demand or specific project work. * Carry out a programme of daily/weekly/monthly checks and develop approaches to improve, streamline and automate the health status of the environment. * Effectively manage deliverables: Tickets, Small Works Projects and Technical leadership of major implementation and upgrade projects. * Ensure any projects you are leading for the organisation, or those within your own immediate area of responsibility, are reviewed and accurately updated on a timely basis. * Create, review and publishing of SLA's and regularly reported KPI's. Support the further definition and embedding and measuring of IT Department KPI's as agreed, including: Service Performance, Financial Performance, Project Delivery, Risk Management, Customer Satisfaction and People Management * Meet IS assurance, governance and policies to ensure we operate with confidence, through effective maintenance of secure and stable IT platforms for the business, adherence to company security, accreditation and audit requirements. * Proactively identify and manage risk via the IT Risk Management process. * Plan, agree and participate in scheduled BCP/DR exercises. * Maintain effective Asset Management and license compliance, system vulnerability management as required. * Maintain consistently high levels of satisfaction as measured by regular surveys including net promoter feedback, post implementation, and formal annual surveys. * Ensure all services are appropriately documented.
