Due to significant growth FEV UK now has an opportunity for a strong, versatile prototype technician to support multiple vehicle and powertrain based tasks. These tasks will require flexibility and the ability to adapt to ever changing priorities both working in the West Midlands and on test trips across Europe. Key Tasks The senior prototype and development technician will be tasked with the following; - Engine strip (Various types of engine size and models), all prototype and non-production. - Photography (HD- creating a portfolio of the stripped engine and its many components. - Vehicle based work on prototype and development vehicles. - Occasional engine re build. - Parts failure rating using provided in conjunction with the customers set requirements. - De bugging data analyzers, and data logging using INCA. The successful candidate will also have been exposed to, and will have working knowledge of Cabling and wiring, engine preparation for test bench operation (instrumentation fitting, palletisation) and full engine test bed operation. mThe position will develop over the course of the next few years with a more dominant focus on test bed operations however will still include all of the above mentioned key tasks. Required skills - Good Microsoft office skills, word, excel, outlook. - Methodical approach to tasks. - Strong customer communication skills both written and verbal. - The ability to engage with the customer in identifying an alternative methods where necessary. - Finding solutions to the customer's issues. - Good electrical understanding. - Good manufacturing and fabrication skills. Education - NVQ Level 3 in vehicle engineering or a full time served apprenticeship in a vehicle orientated discipline. - Full UK driving license. - Good written and verbal English communication skills.
