Continuous Improvement Engineer is required for an engineering company based in Newton Abbot. The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be a key member of the Engineering team reporting to the Operations and Quality Functions. This position will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing teams in value stream improvements, focusing on process reliability & capability to create flow and to ensure that customer demands are met on time in full and to the highest quality. The position will work closely with the teams throughout all the manufacturing areas of the Organisation to help promote a continuous improvement culture through a PDCA process. Key responsibilities: - Ability to demonstrate implementation of Lean strategies within a manufacturing environment. - Be expert in use and deployment of Lean tools, techniques and methods - Demonstrate their ability to drive "cultural change" with an attention to detail and strong ability to work under their own initiative - Work within, and lead, multi discipline and cross functional teams driving efficiency and productivity improvements to reduce the seven wastes - Support a standardised approach to Business improvement across the site - Lead, project manage and track multiple cross-functional improvement projects to assure successful implementation - Have effective delegation skills - Ideally hold an accredited Lean and 6 Sigma qualification - The successful candidate will be rewarded with an autonomous role with accountability for waste reduction throughout the factory. - Substantiation of achievements realised within a similar environment is required The applicant will be expected to facilitate practical training & drive the implementation of Lean practices, tools & techniques including: - Identification of Waste reduction and improvement through 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, etc. - Layout of manufacturing cells and production lines - Design for lean - Root Cause Analysis - Knowledge of 6 Sigma and statistical process control methods Key skills/qualifications required: - HNC or higher in Engineering - Experience of statistical software packages - 5 years or more manufacturing experience If you are an experienced Continuous Improvement Engineer and are currently looking for a new challenge, then please submit an up to date CV by using the 'apply' button below.
